Bettie Kettell, Julie Wagoner & First Congregational Church of Durham have played key roles in an event to raise money for the Durham Home Heating Fund.



Judy Lyons & Marie Tancrel have been volunteering at the Greene Central School for a period of over fifteen years.



Errol Additon has served as a selectman 30 years & as an auctioneer to help PTC & other causes.



St. Mary’s Nutrition Center’s Lots to Gardens helps folks grow food & youths become leaders.



Natalie Thomsen helped Moxie Festival, many other volunteer causes while Lisbon High student.



Livermore Community Center Association spent over 1,000 hours of time to restore the center.


Livermore Falls

Wayne and Pat Knowlton & Don Simoneau have restored parks & a cannon, painted benches and seasonally decorated the town.


Mechanic Falls

Scott Penney has organized many activities over a span of decades to help children, others in need.



Roger Goodwin served on the school board & budget and building committees, helps his church.



Santa Comes to Poland for 20+ years has been collecting toys at Christmas-time for kids in need.



Ray Asselin has devoted much time and energy to Sabattus Fun Day, providing invaluable service.



Stephanie Pelkey chairs the Recreation Dept. Board of Directors & coaches cheering and lacrosse.



Aroostook County


Castle Hill, Chapman & Mapleton

Mapleton Lions Club hosts Memorial Day Parade, puts flags on Main St, built pool & ballfield.



Cumberland County



Allan Dolloff has been a selectman, a fireman, has helped many other community groups & events.



Casco Alliance Church Food Pantry & Casco Village Church Food Pantry cooperate in providing nutritional foods to those most in need.



Windham Town Council annually hosts a reception honoring 100+ to encourage volunteerism.



Franklin County



Harland Clemens has been a volunteer fireman for many years, organized the town’s 911 system.



Tammy Goldfrank chaired town’s Bicentennial Celebration & organized events throughout 2016.


New Vineyard

Frank Forster has served several years as a Selectman, done much to help folks in his community.



Tom Doak teaches Wilton school children how to prevent fires and how to respond to emergencies.



Hancock County



Tim Emery is Bucksport’s Recreation Director, has done so much to help his community’s youths.



Bruce Carter has been a Selectman, Assessor, Road Commissioner, Water Dept. Commissioner.



Orland Fire Dept. embodies the ‘Spirit of Volunteerism’, has responded to countless emergencies.



Kennebec County



Friends of Lithgow Library organized campaign raising millions for construction of new library.



Nicholas Alexander led fundraising drive for a Pine Tree Camp wheelchair accessible playground.

Wesley Day has served many years as a firefighter and also has done Pine Tree Camp fundraising.

Judy Hallowell has run benefit dinners to assist a variety of causes, including the Dempsey Event.

Angie Labonte has provided hand-knitted blankets to several families in need in her community.

Rebecca Seel has served on School Board, Library Board, has helped draft many town ordinances.



Kennebec Eye Care has sponsored several families over the past 3 yrs for Thanksgiving & Xmas.



Randal Magee has devoted countless hours to performing tasks & helping out on Chelsea’s roads.

Judy Williams has volunteered many hours of her time to helping out at the Chelsea Town Office.



Leroy & Ann Austin and other China Community Food Pantry Volunteers provide a very valuable service to those in need in their town.

Carlaine Bovio has done much to help Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts & Snowmobile Club.

Jennifer Chamberlain, Julie Finley, Kelly Grotton & Rebecca Hapgood are town employees who have done a lot to assist China Community Days.



Anthony Barton initiated and coordinated a partnership with the Red Cross to promote fire safety.



Kendra Guiou is a Hall-Dale High math teacher who goes well above and beyond the call of duty.

Jeremy Porter is in charge of the Jobs For Maine Graduates program at Hall-Dale High School.



Fayette Baptist Church is responsible for the local Food Pantry & the Children’s Clothes Closet.



Russell Greenleaf has served on a number of city boards/committees, is active Gardiner Rotarian.



Rick Morrow has done a lot of things over a period of many years to help Hallowell Food Bank.



Luke Bartol is a scout who constructed a bus stop shelter for the Manchester Elementary School.

Pat Couture has served as Master of Cub Scout Pack 622 & chaired a state scouting committee.

Garry Hinkley has active in Conservation Commission and on Comprehensive Plan Committee.

Manchester Historical Society has spent a lot of time and effort in restoring five local cemeteries.


Mount Vernon

Dr. Shaw Memorial Library Volunteers have done much over many decades to assist the library.



Jean Ponitz organized a committee & raised funds to plant flowers throughout Town of Oakland.

Mike Willey spearheaded the effort & got voter approval for construction of a new Police Station.



Debra MacInnis coordinated the massive project to install 226 smoke detectors in Pittston homes.



Mary Pinkham does much to assist local clothing bank & her church with its fundraising suppers.



Dale Clark has shared Readfield’s history through classes she has taught, signs and history walks.

Hannah Flannery has helped countless children through the recreation program & charity events.

William Hewett has served for years as a Little League coach, teaching much more than baseball.

Gary & Ann Keilty have given yrs of service to Readfield’s committees, boards, other nonprofits.

Joan Wiebe has spent a lot of time and effort assisting Union Meeting House and its restoration.



Richard Greenan serves as co-chair of the planning board & is on a number of other committees.

Alan LaBelle has been a strong supporter of Rome Rec Committee and serves on planning board.



Jeffery Frost organized Vets’ Memorial & Sidney Historical Soc., chairs Memorial Day Parade.



Lori Fowle organized craft fair to aid a family with a serious health issue & was on school board.



Jim Gajarski maintains Kimball Pond Road spring & plays Santa at the Community Santa party.

Allan Harville maintains Kimball Pond Road spring & has done a lot to help Mill Stream Grange.



Waterville Area Food Bank distributed over 250,000 pounds of food to 1,400+ families last year.



Jane Andrews was integral in developing Cary Memorial Library’s “Salute to Veterans” program.

Comprehensive Plan Committee spent much time over 3 yrs to create plan & get everyone’s OK.

Holly Stevenson helps Wayne Community Church, Cary Memorial Library & other local causes.


West Gardiner

Elmore Morgan drove veterans to doctor appointments, supermarkets, shopping malls, VA, etc.



Mark Scribner - NETCo established scholarship fund to encourage residents to enroll in college.

Windsor Volunteer Rescue Unit over years has responded to many emergencies, has saved lives.



Dan Quirion served twenty-three years on the Winslow Family 4th of July Celebration Committee.



Dale Glidden has served on many committees and led efforts, such as construction of new library.



Knox County



Nancy Brown has much to help the library & the historical society, reads to local kindergarteners.



Walter Rich has helped Scouts, Union Fair, other town committees, including budget & planning.



Priscilla Packard has headed up a number of activities for her Eastern Star Grange over the years.






Mike & Amy Preston and their store extend kindnesses to folks in need and organize fundraisers.


Boothbay Harbor

Palmer Payne has chaired Port Committee, served as Selectman and on several other committees.



Henry Nevins has served 16 years as a Selectman, 25+ years with fire department and ambulance.

Linda Nevins has been helping Patriotic Club, Library Association and Plant Sales for 25+ years.



Dick McLean has served as a selectman, on Comprehensive Planning, Budget & other committees.



Mary Walsh over four decades has served on school board & done so much to help senior citizens.



Kim Bachelor has assumed responsibility for town hall’s flag, always lowering & raising it timely.



Gladys Johnston has helped her church as its clerk, Ladies Aid for 45+ years & Community Club.



Jim Grenier Sr. has chaired Planning Board & Comprehensive Planning Committee & is fireman.

David & Alice Rafuse secured needed donations & saved the Veterans Memorial from destruction.


South Bristol

100th Celebration Committee did spectacular job of organizing the town’s special birthday party.



William Blodgett has been helping Waldoboro Lions, Historical Society, Library & other causes.


Westport Island

Wright Landing Committee & Horticulture Committee are caretakers of town-owned property used for recreational purposes.



Whitefield News Publishing Team is volunteers raising cash, publishing monthly town newsletter.



Church of Nazarene Food Pantry & Help Yourself Food Pantry have provided food to folks in need in their area for many years.



Oxford County



Brenda Jarvis & Caroline Smith established and still run a shelter for abandoned/homeless cats.



Bruce Nason has served as selectmen & on several town committees, including budget & planning.



Sarah Glynn has helped the Paris Revitalization and Renewal Committees plus additional causes.



Mexico Lions Club for 35+ years has run an Ice Fishing Derby to help people in need get glasses.

Roxbury ATV Riders Club annually does fundraising for causes like Make-A-Wish & Cancer.



Penobscot County



Jacqueline Emerson has served on several committees, helped a variety of causes over the years.



Stephen Colbath served 15-16 years as a selectman & spearheaded the Veterans Memorial effort.


Mount Chase

Vicki Nanni has served 10+ years on the budget committee & played key role in local fundraisers.



Stanley Smith served as a selectman, on the planning board and on the Volunteer Fire Department.



Piscacaquis County



Maine Highlands Federal Credit Union has helped many volunteer causes throughout the years.



Garrett Kimball chaired construction of new flag courtyard at town office, earned Eagle Scout.



Thomas Carone has been a Selectman, a Grange member & chaired Sangerville Volunteer Days.



Ruth Nason has volunteered at Mayo Regional Hospital for 33 years, has helped other causes too.



Shirley Volunteer Fire Dept. has served the town in vast ways and folks appreciate its hard work.



Sagadahoc County



Jeremy Blaiklock has served his town as ACO, a First Responder and on Scholarship Committee.



Bonnie McDonald is coordinator for Bath Area Senior Citizens Center & coaches youth bowling.



Karen Mayo chairs Bowdoin Community Cares, which oversees town’s food pantry & giving tree.



Doug Tourtelotte has donated labor, equipment, materials to many projects and been a selectman.



John Hagan helps Conservation Commission, holds events to raise awareness of  climate change.



Bob Cummings served many years as a selectmen, on Land Trust Board & Shellfish Commission.



Janette & Michael Sweem have played a key role in organizing the Richmond Area Food Pantry.



Mike Whitney serves on the Topsham Budget Committee & on county’s Budget Advisory Comm.


West Bath

West Bath Investment Committee developed a comprehensive capital plan, will much help town.



Roger Baffer heads up the community TV station, serves on town’s Communications Committee.



Somerset County



Pat Nelson serves conscientiously as Animal Control Officer, rescuing many animals from abuse.



Victory Club runs fundraisers to support its food baskets, gift cards & other charitable activities.



Charlie Pooler has done lots of things to help people of his community over a span of many years.



Ronald Hartford II chairs Cambridge Cornfield ATV ride benefiting Make-A-Wish Foundation.



Randolph Huber for past 10+ years has been balancing Canaan’s bank accounts as a volunteer.



Melvin Hogate Sr. was a founding member of fire dept. & served historical society, school board.



Joesph Cianchette Jr. has served 31 years as Chair of Selectmen, doing so much to help his town.



Raymond Young has been selectman, assessor, on school committee, C of C, Snowmobile Assoc.



Fairfield Knights of Columbus does fundraisers that help a large number of charitable causes.

Mark McPheters helps Fairfield Historical Society, does so much to preserve & promote history.



Paul Magoon is an active EMT who has been with Ambulance Service & the fire dept. many yrs.



Tri-Town Food Cupboard provides food to families in need, has been in existence over 20 years.



Jackman Volunteers donate countless hrs of time, making their town better, keeping taxes down.



Raymond Soucy served for many years on the boards of selectmen, assessors, and Water District.



Jeanne Mukai, Margaret Pierce & Evelyn Robbins have helped chart, map, implement the 911 emergency response system in Mercer.


Moose River

Sally Hughey has served as Public Library treasurer & does other things to help her community.



Sheree Brown chaired Moscow’s Bicentennial Celebration, a 10-day festival with many activities.



Elwin Matthew spearheads the town’s Memorial Day events & raised money for Vets’ Memorial.



Esther Temple helped set up & operate the Lending Library and has served on the Appeals Board.



Spencer Havey was Sebasticook Valley Elks Lodge founding father, has done lots more for Elks.



Ripley Cemetery Committee has been removing debris and restoring stones in town’s cemeteries.

Ripley Historical Society played key role in town’s 200th Birthday Celebration, made a time line.



Amy Rouse has been Girl Scout leader, School Board member & helps her church in many ways.

Gene Rouse has done much for his church, scouts, Maine Street Skowhegan & Budget Committee.



Solon Fire Dept. Auxiliary does annual roadside cleanup, hosts community parties, helps firemen.


St. Albans

Rhonda Stark has done much for Somerset Budget Committee and for many local committees too.



Starks Volunteer Fire Department has been assisting it community in emergencies for 65+ years.



Waldo County



Harvest Home Grange gives scholarships to graduating seniors, Christmas gifts to needy youths.



Robert Drew maintains local parks, chairs the Granite Committee, and is a trustee of the library.



Marc Payne & Diane Winn began & continue aiding the nonprofit Avian Haven Wild Bird Rehabilitation Center.



Jackson Library Board has assisted their relatively new library with fundraising & in other ways.



Dave St. Clair has served on town committees, helps local sports teams and with Community Hall.



Lincolnville Veterans Park Committee created a park to honor the town’s vets for their service.



Monroe Volunteer Fire Department has responded to numerous emergencies throughout the yrs.



Chris Ficker & Greg McDaniel have been grilling chicken for the annual Montville Field Day for the past 39+ years.



Herman & Patsy Littlefield have helped 1st Responders, Fire Dept., Planning Board, VFW & other causes.



Dina Curtis sews items for Maine Children’s Home, the Humane Society and gives scholarships.

David Parkman has chaired Budget Committee, served on Planning Board & been grange master.



William Hyland designed and had built ‘Welcome to Searsmont’ signs and achieved Eagle Scout.



George Kerper volunteers for many boards/committees/projects, runs local station filming events.


Stockton Springs

Basil Staples places flags on vets’ graves, helps the library, Food Pantry and many other causes.



Janet Cropley maps Troy’s cemeteries & also helps Ladies Auxiliary, Historical Soc., her church.



Lori Grant has organized public suppers and motorcycle rides to raise money for worthy causes.



The Winterport Living Nativity has been organized by volunteers each Dec. for nearly 50 years.



Washington County



Cherryfield Academy Board of Trustees saved the building & turned it into a community center.



Ella Kowal has been city clerk for 18 years and has helped numerous people through trying times.



Herbert Hanscom has served as selectman, on planning board and on Fourth of July committee.



York County



Ken Hall has served on Cornish’s planning board for the past several years, offering vast wisdom.



Kenneth Putnam was a valuable member of the Fire and Rescue Departments for ten plus years.


North Berwick

Mary Craig runs North Berwick Food Pantry, also does much to help her church & other causes.


Old Orchard Beach

Veteran’s Memorial Park Flag Ceremony Group honors a deceased veteran each summer night.



Peg Poulin has been a driving force of Saco Main Street, chairing committees and helping events.



Leo & Sandra Binette have helped youths and beautified Waterboro’s common grounds & parks.
